Purity Ring

Over a year ago I received a purity ring for my 14th birthday. I wear it on my ring finger, and I never take it off. I realize that it is not necessary to wear a purity ring in order to keep your personal commitment to staying pure, but I think that the symbolism is important, and can be very beneficial.

When I look at my ring I am reminded that God has chosen a perfect partner for me, and that he too is patiently waiting. This thought helps me to guard my actions and words around other young men. Since receiving my purity ring I have also begun praying for my future husband. I may not know who he is, but the Lord certainly does, and I can be sure that He will hear my prayers.

Not only has wearing a purity ring encouraged me, it has also served as a witnessing tool. A few people have seen the ring and asked if I had a boyfriend. I took the opportunity to share about my commitment to my future husband and therefore, my commitment to Christ.

Two Thousand Ten Has Come At Last.

I refuse to call the new year "Twenty ten". That sounds stupid. Maybe people called 1997 "Nineteen ninety-seven", but it's not the 1990s anymore, now is it? :) I can now say that I will be 18 next year. (This being the year I turn 17.. in 11 months.)
So much happened in 2009. It was a very good year. 2007 still beats it in the "World's Most Amazing Year That Kaitlyn Has Been Around" contest though. Haha! In 2009 I made a few friends (understatement). Emily graduated in May. July was the most busy time of my life, thus far. I didn't have ONE free day! I was in 2 plays (with the option of being in a third, but my schedule just wouldn't allow it.) :)
I started at John Casablancas Modeling and Career Center in September. Mom, Bethany, Emily, and I were wedding dress shopping at Franklin Park mall when we came upon a booth for John Casablancas. I had already gone to an audition/ interview in Columbus at JC. I didn't know there was one so much closer! Anyway, the nice lady (Bonnie, the owner of JC in Toledo) invited us to an audition that night at their office! All three of us girls! We went and were all accepted! Emily and I started classes a week later. (Bethany decided not to do it)
I had been looking into modeling for about 1 1/2 years by then. I even went to a couple auditions for Alterna and Redken hair/ runway shows. I didn't get into those. John Casablancas has been a dream come true! There are twenty classes to take in order to get your "diploma"; which include three runway classes, three make-up classes, a "color" class, a hair class, two acting classes, classes on photoshoot preparation and resumes, and at the end- a photoshoot and graduation. I had the opportunity to be in a runway show with some JC students.. too bad I was in North Carolina visiting cousins! :) There will definitely be more though!
Just this past week I worked 2 days at Dillard's at the Chanel counter as a fragrance model. I get $200.00 Chanel/ Dillard's credit. :D If it DOES count for Dillard's credit I'm getting THESE shoes... :D :D :D

So there's this one personnnn.. That person seems to be perfect in just about every way. I am very jealous of that. Other than their sarcastic tendencies, of course. But I think I'm attracted to that, too. D: What is it about them that makes me think that they don't like me? I don't like it when people don't like me. I love making people laugh and be my friends.. but I feel like I'm not myself around this particular person.. that's what makes them not like me. Like I'm always trying overly hard to make them like me. Please, God, make me be myself!! I want to be nice, polite, sweet, caring, genuine.. But I have a hard time with that. I think that if this person saw me at my nicest, politest, sweetest, most caring, genuine times, that they would LOVE me! Hahaha! Not really... But it'd be nice. :) I have a few more months to prove to myself and everyone else that the old Kaitlyn is still in there. That will be my 2010 "resolution". :)
Tomorrow starts the second semester of the 09-10 school year. Ohhh joy! :) I love learning, don't get me wrong.. but Waking up is hard to do! (isn't it "Breaking up is hard to do?") (Which isn't my case, considering I've never broken up with someone.) :)

Sincerely, :)
Kaitlyn Collins. ♥
